Privacy policy
Keep the data footprint narrow and explain it clearly.
This policy explains the limited data Where2Nxt uses to run the site, improve the planner, and protect the service. The public planner can be used without an account, but account features add extra data processing for saved planning and authentication.
Information used to run the site
Like most web applications, Where2Nxt may process technical request data such as IP address, browser details, requested URLs, timestamps, and application logs so pages and APIs can load, problems can be diagnosed, and the service can be protected from misuse.
Information kept in your browser
The public planner stores a temporary client identifier in browser session storage for the life of the current tab so API requests from that tab can be grouped without creating a public account. It also stores your chosen display currency in browser local storage so the site can remember that preference on later visits. These values stay in your browser unless you clear them or, for session storage, close the tab.
Account information and saved planning
If you create an account, Where2Nxt stores your first name, last name, email address, password hash, email-verification status, preferred display currency, and any cities, attractions, simulations, or comparisons you choose to save. Saved simulations and comparisons store planning inputs so they can be recalculated against the current dataset rather than freezing a historical quote.
Verification and password reset emails
Where2Nxt sends transactional emails when you verify a new account, re-verify a changed email address, or request a password reset. Those emails are used only to protect account access and are not marketing messages.
Optional analytics
If analytics is enabled for the live site and you actively allow it, Where2Nxt uses Google Analytics to measure page views and planner usage. This may include route type, destination slugs, comparison context, simulator usage, device and browser context, and similar product-interaction events so the team can understand which parts of the planner are useful.
Service providers
Where2Nxt may rely on service providers such as hosting and analytics providers to operate the site. Those providers only receive the information needed to run their part of the service.
Retention and updates
Operational logs and analytics data are kept only as long as they are reasonably needed for security, debugging, reporting, or legal obligations. This page should be updated whenever the product adds new data flows or integrations that affect public users.
Deletion and data rights
If you delete your account from the account settings area, Where2Nxt removes the account record, saved planning data, active sessions, remember tokens, and password reset tokens tied to that account. Where feasible, the service is designed to avoid spreading account identifiers into unrelated telemetry so deletion stays practical.
